Providence Hospital in DC

In the past couple years, we have been serving meals in the shelters, delivering food baskets, providing back-to-school supplies to the needy children, and providing winter jackets and other winter gears to the homeless and needy children in DC and Baltimore City area. One of the activities that we are involved in is helping Sister Lawrence and her team serving needy families of the Providence Hospital in DC. You may see her pictures in the following links

Most of the clients who met the Sisters at the first time is when they arrived the hospital's ER by ambulances. Usually, they are very poor and have illness. Because they are sick and without money, it leads them to give up hope and living. Once the client was rescued and a case is created/confirmed, the Sisters will then get involved. Because the concerns of the volunteers' safety, the Sisters (mostly in their 70s and 80s) would drive through the streets in DC area to deliver donated necessities and clothing, to do laundry, and even to cook for the needy. What they are doing is so admirable that I don't know what words to use to describe… Those Sisters are our role models. Comparing with what they have accomplished, my friends and I have done nothing yet.

It is always the biggest challenge for the Sisters to find the warm clothing for their clients during the winter season. So, we're keeping to work with her to help needy. Please join with us.
